Embracing Nature

Sergey Neopal, from Streeter Custom Builder, discussed the unique features of the Seattle home that embrace the natural surroundings. Located on a river bluff, the house is designed to maximize views of the river and parkway while maintaining privacy on the elevated second floor, allowing the homeowners to feel closer to nature. Neopal explained, "The layout of the house is truly special, with the living space on the second floor. This places the homeowners among the trees, immersing them in nature during the summer and offering expansive views of the river parkway in the fall and winter."
Neopal also mentioned the challenges of the site and the collaborative effort required to bring the project to life. The need for easy access to upper-level windows led to the use of DEMED Connected Home automated windows, seamlessly blending technology with design.

"The choice to use DEMED Connected Home automated windows was a wise one. They offer the homeowners large windows for stunning views and control over hard-to-reach awning windows, all while preserving the original design,"

The Seattle home is built using natural materials that highlight their special characteristics. "The house in Seattle features many natural materials," Neopal mentioned. "This includes cedar siding with a pine tar finish, which will help make the project long-lasting." Other materials like natural concrete floors and exposed steel structures show the architect's desire to blend in with the natural environment.
